FALSEHOODS AND LEGENDS

This page is in preparation  - tune in soon for some very interesting info on the occult scene.

Over the years many amazing legends and stories have gone the rounds about the S.A.   Some are astoundingly true, others have been much modified by gossip.  We are glad of any opportunity to put the record straight; to confirm or deny or give the genuine background to strange events.  If you have any questions  concerning legends and stories that have built up around the S.A. over the years that you might like to ask Marabas about , now's your chance.  Email us at

We will answer you privately and, if your query is worth its salt ,we will reproduce it (using your initials only as identification) and Marabas's answer on this page.

Q: I have been told that one of your magical Oils closed down Yorkshire Television for a day, is that true?  T.G.,  Newark.

A: Sort of.  When shooting the TV drama series Harry's Game  (about an MI5 agent infiltrating the IRA) the director wanted to create a particular visual atmosphere. He tried a number of the usual stage devices, a smoke machine, dry-ice etc. but it wasn't quite right. Then he consulted with me and I recommended that if he used Cannakosh Oil ( stockcode B101 ) not only would he get the camera 'eye' he wanted but the oil would even improve the performances of the actors as well.  He took a sample and was delighted with the results, returning to order it in kilos at a time.  However, a few days into the first episode the technical staff at YTV got to hear about it and downed-tools. The production was brought to a halt and the incident threatened to spill over and close down the entire company.  I was asked to provide the formula for Cannakosh but could not do so as that is a trade secret.  An agreement  was finally reached satisfactory to all when the strikers agreed to accept the word of a senior YTV executive with whom I agreed to share the formula .  Cannakosh oil is of course perfectly safe and with that the production recommenced. The drama eventually received an award for its visual atmosphere!

Q:  I have been told by someone who used to visit your shop regularly when you used to open for calling customers that a trapdoor can clearly be seen in the floor and that it  leads to a subterranean magical temple. Is that true?

A:  Not quite.  The trapdoor exists and the cellar exists but there is no temple there. We work our operations elsewhere.

Q: I know someone who used to work with you and he said that some years ago the acting career of xxxxxx who now stars regularly in Eastenders, was in the doldrums and he visited you for advice and within a few months he had become a household name.  Is that right?

A: Yes;  All entertainers know that there are thousands of hopefulls who are skilled and talented but the only ones who become 'stars' are the ones who are 'touched' with the magic - that's why showbiz people are so superstitIous.  Xxxxxx came to me at a loss - his career was going nowhere. I showed him how to use the I-Ching divination system to chart his own career. Within months he was a national star and, more to the point, has remained so ever since.

Q:  I've heard that you put a spell on David Bellamy, the ecologist and TV celebrity. What was it and why?

A:  When I founded the Sacred Trees Trust tree preservation charity we wanted some top-flight publicity so I petitioned the gods . Unbeknownst to any of us David Bellamy was at that moment passing through Leeds on his way to some other appearance. The gods arranged for his car to have a puncture and come to a halt right outside the S.A.   The first we knew was when he walked through the door asking to use our phone to call a mechanic. So we collared him!  He was a  bit perplexed to find that we were expecting him.
