Risk Phrase & Safety Phrase Number Classifications for S.A. ingredients

The following two Tables give the official EEC Risk Phrase and Safety Phrase nomenclature. Regulations require that all raw materials / ingredients, oils, balsams, herbs and minerals should carry official Risk and Safety Phrases set out by the EEC to enable users to take adequate measures on storage and use. The Risk and Safety phrase numbers will be shown on the identification labels we apply to any ingredient we sell you and are listed in brackets on the end of each entry in our lists. Simply read off the number given against the lists below for the full information.

For instance almost any substance will carry the Safety Phrase S02 as this simply means Keep out of the reach of Children. Please be assured that the regulations have to cover all substances / ingredients / chemicals etc and should be used intelligently . For example, Acacia gum (which has for hundreds of years been used as a food in Arabia and is a constituent of many medicines being particularly helpful in assuaging stomach ulcers and internal bleeding) has officially been given the safety phrase S26 'In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice' Obviously the eyes are delicate and anything put in them may irritate so you shouldn't do it; however in this instance the official safety phrase concerns Acacia powder and is mainly intended to warn of possible effects of  airborne powder in industrial situations where any dust or powder in the eyes over prolonged periods is not desirable.  Similarly ,refined Talcum powder (used for hundreds of years by millions of people after bathing and to powder babies' bottoms with no apparent ill effects) is listed as 'may cause skin, respiratory or eye irritation'!   Inapplicable though this warning appears to be in a domestic situations I suppose there will be some dolt somewhere who might very well empty talc into his eye just to see what happens and the regulations cater for this  so  we must convey the official phrase just to make sure. Regular customers will be amazed to see common-or-garden materials given R and S numbers but that's what happens when common-sense gives way to The Nanny Society.

A sense of proportion is necessary.    These regulations cover the handling of all substances, from the insignificant amounts we sell you to bulk industrial applications of very dangerous radioactive substances and rare toxic chemicals which we would never touch!  Against these very real dangers Acacia and Talc, come so low down the scale of hazard as to be insignificant but we will always comply with safety regulations and provide you with all necessary information.    Please don't be stampeded by these S and R phrases. If substances were really dangerous the authorities would make sure you wouldn't be able to access them at all!   We have been working with these natural substances in our lists for over 30 years with no adverse affects and cannot remember any complaint from our 60,000 customer base during that time. You should carefully read and understand the R and S numbers on the products we supply to you and use them as guidance for storage and applications.  If you are unsure or want more information on any ingredient before use we will be only too happy to provide it.

DISCLAIMER: Recommendations for Applications: If you order goods without consulting with us beforehand we will assume you have the requisite knowledge to take responsibility for their use. If you are unsure you should ask before purchase. Marabas has an unparalleled grasp of esoteric methods worldwide but he is not a god - he cannot indemnify customers from risk. Only you know your exact circumstances, your medical history, state of health and the progression of the problem so far. Only you can judge whether it is in your interests to apply magic in your life.  If you ask us how a magician might resolve a problem then Marabas will tell you but magic is a force used to modify the course of destiny and can cause peripheral changes which are not anticipated therefore all magical operations are by qualification inherently experimental.  Not everyone is willing to put in the commitment required to follow the true esotericist's path so the short-cut is to ask Marabas how adepts might do it. Our products and raw materials are genuine, traditional and designed with adept knowledge of magical method. You cannot get a better chance of successfully experimenting with magic ; but be under no illusion - it is an experiment undertaken entirely at your own risk. The S.A. offers raw materials and literature for curiosity's sake only. Marabas's historical knowledge is given if asked.
